Fall Wedding at the Overlook at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, KY

Alison and Jarrod’s wedding was at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, Kentucky, on a beautiful fall day. Alison looked gorgeous in her lace wedding dress with long sleeves and a cathedral veil. Her bridesmaids wore long slate blue bridesmaid dresses. Their bouquets were filled with colorful flowers and greenery. Jarrod and his groomsmen looked handsome in their navy suits and blue ties. Alison and Jarrod’s ceremony overlooked the beautiful golf course, pond, bridges, and tall grass. Their reception followed in the Paddock Pavillion & Patio. The tables were dressed in white table cloths and decorated with gold and navy accents. Alison and Jarrod danced the night away, celebrating with their family and friends.

Their love story first began when they both attended the University of Kentucky. Their first date was to a Lexington Legends baseball game. However, it rained so the game kept getting pushed back until it was eventually canceled. They improvised by getting ice cream instead. Jarrod knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Alison. So what better way to propose than to go back to where it all first began. Jarrod told Alison that they were going on a date but that it was a surprise. She asked what she should wear, and he told her jeans and a blue top. She figured it had to be something UK or Lexington Legends because it was so oddly specific. They pulled into the Legend’s Stadium, and Jarrod says, “I splurged and got VIP parking!” Alison thought that was odd because he usually doesn’t splurge on that stuff, but Alison was okay with it. Jarrod walked up to will call, and the guys asked what suite it was. Alison was shocked that it was a suite! She started to figure out that something might be up. When they arrived at the suite, Alison walked in to see pictures of them hanging on the wall, and the room was all decorated. There was also a baseball bat that was engraved with the words, “WILL YOU MARRY ME?” Alison turned around to see that Jarrod was down on one knee. It was so sweet. Alsion was overjoyed and was so surprised to see all of her family and friends walk in. Jarrod had arranged for all of them to be there. It was the perfect proposal ever. Alison’s best friends had come earlier to set everything up. It was also perfect because it was “put a ring on it” night at the game, and they were giving out replica championship rings. What a coincidence! Alison’s ring was extra special though because Jarrod had taken the diamond from Alison’s Nana’s ring. Jarrod sure hit his proposal out of the park! Alison and Jarrod are so perfect for each other. We have loved getting to know them this year and capture their love story. We want to wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure!
