Amy and Brett’s wedding was at the Bluegrass Pvallion and Patio at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, Kentucky, on a beautiful fall day. Amy looked gorgeous in her lace wedding dress. Her girls wore long blush dresses. Their bouquets were filled with an assortment of pink, white, and maroon flowers. Brett and his guys looked dapper in their navy suits and blush ties. Their ceremony was held on a brick covered patio with a romantic fountain. Amy and Brett’s reception followed in a large white tent. The tables were dressed in white tablecloths and decorated with candles, floral centerpieces, and gold and blush accents. We celebrated with Amy and Brett by exploring the golf course at sunset and taking some romantic photos. We have loved getting to know Amy and Brett this year. It was such an honor to capture their wedding and tell their wedding day love story.
Their love story first began when they met at their best friend’s wedding at Keeneland five years ago. He was the best man, and she was the maid of honor. They didn’t have a spark immediately, but they did enjoy talking with each other that day. That same year in October, their friends Shawna and Liz arranged a double date between them in Louisville. Amy had no idea it was a double date until halfway through the evening. They went out to dinner and then to a haunted house where Brett tried to hold Amy’s hand and act scared. They both stayed the night at their friend’s house that evening. After their friends went to bed, Amy and Brett stayed up talking. Brett made the first move and kissed Amy. Their first official date was dinner at Nick Ryans in Lexington, Kentucky, and then to see a movie.
Brett knew that he wanted to spend forever with Amy. One day Amy and Brett were on their way to meet Shawn and Liz to go to Disney World. Brett told Amy that the morning of he wanted to stop at Keeneland if they had time because they were supposed to be working the horses out on the track. He had always wanted to go but had never had the chance. Amy told him no because they only had 25 minutes to get to the airport before their plane boarded. Brett decided to stop anyway, which made Amy mad because she was scared they would miss their flight. When they arrived at the gate, there were no horses out on the track. Amy turned around to say something to Brett when she found him down on one knee. He told her that he wanted to ask her at Keeneland because it meant a lot to them, and he wanted it just to be the two of them. She, of course, said yes, and then they rushed off to the airport and had a fantastic vacation. We are so happy for Amy and Brett and want to wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure. Congratulations, you two!
