Kellie and Steve’s wedding was at the gorgeous Events at Hemlock Springs in the Red River Gorge. They couldn’t have picked a more perfect place to tie the knot literally. The Red River Gorge holds a special place in their hearts because it is not only where they love to be adventurous by where they first met. Kellie looked stunning in her dress accented in beautiful lace. Her ladies wore long green dresses. Their bouquet’s were filled with an assortment of peach, burgundy, and white flowers. Steve and his guys looked dapper in their grey suits and burgundy bowties. Their ceremony took place under a canopy of trees hidden in the forest. During the ceremony they tied a knot together with the same rope Steve was hanging from when they first met. Kellie and Steve’s reception followed in a barn overlooking a cliff line and forest. Inside the barn were long farm tables decorated in gold and burgundy accents. Tall floral centerpieces lines the tables while lights were strung in front of the barn. It was such a magical evening filled with so much love for Kellie and Steve. All their friends and family danced the night away as they celebrated this amazing couple.
Steve and Kellie first met while climbing in the Red River Gorge at a rock wall called Bruise Brothers in Muir Valley. They kept in touch for a number of years just as friends. Steve lived in Michigan and Kellie lived in Kentucky. Kellie had always thought about Steve from time to time and had a special place in her heart for him over the years. Steve is a firefighter and one day while Kellie was climbing she found a toy firefighter someone had placed at the top of a climbing route. It made her think of Steve and she wondered if it was a sign of things to come. It turned out that Steve decided to move to Louisville to join the Louisville Fire Department. Once he moved to Kentucky they started to reconnect. Steve took Kellie out for their first date to climb in the gorge. As their relationship grew they became the best of friends and Steve knew he wanted to ask Kellie to marry him. The perfect opportunity came when they went on a tropical cruise with some of their friends. On a formal night while they were getting their photos taken their friends disappeared out of the picture. Kellie turned around to see Steve down on one knee. She, of course, said, yes! We feel so honored that Kellie and Steve had us capture their special day. We feel so blessed to have these two amazing people in our lives to call as friends. They are absolutely perfect for each other and we could not be happier for them as they start this new adventure together. We wish them many years of love, happiness, and adventure.
