Fall Engagement Session at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky

Dani and Tyler’s engagement session was on a beautiful fall day at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The trees were filled with vibrant red, yellow, and orange colors. It truly was the perfect day to celebrate Dani and Tyler’s engagement. We met Dani and Tyler through the wedding industry, as she has taught dance for many of our couples and their parents for the wedding day. You can check out her business First Dance Lexington below. We loved walking around the beautiful grounds of Shaker Village, chatting all about their wedding and hearing more about their love story.

Dani and Tyler first met off a dating app called “The League” in Nashville in December of 2017. After a few days of messaging, they decided to meet for the first time at Fat Bottom Brewery. After that, they moved to Lexington, Kentucky, where they continued to date for several more years. Dani and Tyler love hanging out and going on adventures with their pup, Yadi. Dancing together at weddings and special events, traveling, going to baseball games (Dani’s an SF Giants fan, and Tyler’s a St. Louis Cardinals fan), trying new restaurants, and wine tasting are some of their favorite things as well.

Tyler knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Dani. They don’t have an “our spot” in Lexington yet, so Tyler’s original idea was to have their friends and family meet in Nashville and propose there. However, before this could get planned, Dani’s parents decided to come out to KY (from California), and Tyler knew it would be tough to get them to Nashville, so he changed his plans. Since Dani is a dancer, he thought about trying to propose at the Lexington Opera House. Unfortunately, it was not available when he wanted to propose. However, Tyler had a friend who had connections that could get them to the balcony at the top of the Big Blue Building downtown. He decided that would be the perfect spot since they would have a view of Lexington. Dani’s parents and Tyler’s family joined them at the top of the building to check out the views, which led to Tyler dropping down on one knee with a wooden ring box (made by Dani’s dad). Afterward, they walked down Main Street and got to the front of the old Kentucky Theatre. Dani loves going past the theater and reading the fun notes on the marquee. Tyler arranged for it to say, “Dani – This picture will be awkward if you said no. Now, let’s drink!”. Tyler then led her and the family to The Grove, where they were joined by their friends to celebrate and ended the night with dinner at Tony’s on April 15, 2022. We are so happy for Dani and Tyler and can’t wait to celebrate their special day with them next year in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. Stay tuned for their wedding day love story.
