Jenn and David wanted to do their engagement session in the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. We had so much fun going on an adventure with them. In the first part of their session, they recreated some fun photos from the movie Up with their sweet dog Selene. They brought colorful balloons and set up a cute picnic blanket. Next, we hiked down to Creation Falls and Rock Bridge. A beautiful waterfall flows down into a creek and under a large rock bridge formation. It was a perfect spot to celebrate the adventurous spirits of Jenn and David. To finish the adventure, we raced to Sky Bridge before sunset. We had so much fun exploring with Jenn and David and hearing all about their love story.
Jenn and David first met at school in their Mandarin 2 class and instantly connected. Jenn noticed how pretty David’s blue eyes were (which she stared at constantly during class), and David noticed her Pikachu shirt. They started talking about Jenn’s study abroad trip to China and Hong Kong at the end of summer, and they began swapping stories of their time in Asia, among other interests. When it was time to go back to school for the fall semester, Jenn and David became each other’s best friends and were always hanging out. They officially started dating on October 1, 2015. In their typical fashion of doing things in a weird order, Jenn and David’s first official date was three weeks after they started dating. David took Jenn to a tapas restaurant, then they went to a drive-in movie theater to see Hotel Transylvania 2 and went star gazing. Jenn and David love watching their favorite shows, spending time with Selene, hiking, reading Avatar The Last Airbender comics, assembling LEGO sets, and doing arts and crafts.
David knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Jenn. So he planned a perfect day. They started with a zip line excursion, with a photo-op set up at each platform. Afterward, Jenn and David went on a hike to a scenic waterfall setting up a picnic on a rock in the middle of a stream. David needed to get Jenn to stand up, so he yanked her to her feet, pointed to the tree line on the mountainside above, and said, “Look! A Bear!” David then got down on one knee and asked Jenn to spend forever with him as his wife. To which Jenn nodded and cried, and eventually, 30 minutes later, she remembered to verbally say “Yes!” David, Jenn, and Selene spent the rest of the day exploring the waterfalls, going swimming in the freezing water, and soaking up the moment, completely in love. We are so excited for Jenn and David and can’t wait to capture the next part of their love story adventure at Lost Rive Cave this fall. Jenn and David will be getting married on their 7-year anniversary. Stay tuned for their wedding day love story.
