Tom and Madi’s early spring engagement session was at Keeneland Racetrack in Lexington, Kentucky. We loved getting to celebrate their engagement with them and their sweet dog. It was so much fun walking around the grounds of Keeneland, getting to know them, and hearing all about their love story.

Madi and Tom matched on bumble but didn’t go out on a date until a close mutual friend introduced them and set them up on a date. Their first date was at dinner at Drakes in Lexington, Kentucky. Madi and Tom both love sports. They’ve always consistently watched sports together, especially Kentucky basketball and football. Both of them have always enjoyed movie nights and watching new tv series together.

Tom knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Madi. Madi had apparently ruined all of Tom’s ideas by dropping subtle hints. She told him that she preferred a completely private proposal, just him and her. Madi flew into Fort Smith, Arkansas, from Lexington to visit him. She was suspicious that it was going to happen and got her hair done beforehand. At this point, they were still dating long distance. Tom told Madi he was going to take her to one of the nicest restaurants in Fort Smith, Arkansas, but it was a surprise. As she was getting ready for dinner upstairs, he told Madi that he was too tired from work to go and that she needed to come downstairs and cook. Madi got EXTREMELY angry. But when she finally came downstairs to cook dinner, there were rose petals everywhere, and Tom was down on one knee. Afterward, they went to a steak house for dinner and to celebrate. A few days later, his family flew into Lexington from South Dakota to meet Madi’s and celebrate the 4th of July, which Tom also set up beforehand. That was part of the reason why Madi was suspicious!
