Gorgeous Summer Engagement Photos at Shaker Village in Kentucky

Molly and Mike’s engagement session was at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. We had so much fun getting to know them and adventuring all around the beautiful grounds of Shaker Village. They had the most gorgeous sunset with dreamy light. The horses were even super friendly and interactive. We loved getting to hear their love story and celebrating their engagement with photos.

Molly and Mike first started to chat via social media. They talked for months before Molly got the courage to meet Mike in person. Molly made sure to let ten people know where she would be and about her date with Mike just in case she was kidnapped. It turned out that she had nothing to worry about, and it was the best first date of her life. They went to Molly’s favorite restaurant BJs. Molly and Mike bonded over both loving a small caesar salad and appetizer. After they finished eating, Mike wasn’t ready to drop Molly off, so they decided to walk around the mall for a while. They must have gone and looked in every store. After Molly and Mike ran out of stores, Mike eventually dropped Molly back off. The date went so well that Molly opened a bottle of wine to share with her roommate to tell her all about Mike. Together Mike and Molly love going and exploring antique stores. They can walk around an antique store for hours and never get bored. Mike and Molly enjoy going for walks with their dog, especially lately because they can walk to their house and see the building progress. They always enjoy being social and hanging out with family and friends. Mike is a huge movie fan, so they watch movies together almost every night. He always spoils it before an event happens, but Molly doesn’t mind.

Mike knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Molly. So he convinced Molly to get all dressed up to go on a date out of their special date idea book. They went to a steakhouse restaurant. Mike barely ate anything. Molly, on the other hand, must have had three plates from the salad bar buffet. After that, they drove to a big lake in South Carolina called Lake Murry. Molly and Mike parked and set up his phone to take a photo for their date night book. While Molly was posing for the photo, she turned, and he handed her a lock. The lock was personalized with a picture of them.

As Molly turned the lock to the other side, she read the words, “Will you Marry Me?”. She looked up from the lock to find Mike down on one knee with a ring in his hand. Of course, she said yes. Mike barely could ask the question because he was a little choked up. The lake that they were on had a bridge where people had put locks on the fence. Mike and Molly attached their lock to the fence so that it would always be at the place they got engaged. Mike threw the key in the water. He even made Molly an identical lock that she could keep. Mike got the ring from a local jewelry store in South Carolina called Reeds. He said he walked in and saw it and knew it was the one no matter the price. We are so happy for Molly and Mike and can’t wait to capture their wedding day love story next summer!
