Brand Photography Session for Birch + Lime

Chelsea is the owner of Birch and Lime, a design firm that specializes in strategic brand marketing, identity, and web design based in Lexington, Kentucky. She realized that while helping others define their brand and tell their story, it was also important to share her own. Many elements were essential to Chelsea, such as being female-owned, her client experience, mom work-life, behind the scenes, and flat lay images for her website and social media content.

Chelsea works out of her home office, so we decided that it would be the best place for her session. As we chatted about her business, we started to get to know her brand and the stories she was hoping to share with her clients. Together we came up with three different storylines that we could capture during her brand photography session. The first storyline was geared toward showing her work and home life with her daughter. We used elements such as her iPad, sketchbook, branding books, and computer to show a day in Chelsea’s life working from home. We chose to bring elements that showed her personality, like her love of plants, sitting on the couch, and drinking coffee. The second storyline was for creating flat lay material that could be used for Chelsea’s website and social media. For example, we included her branding boards, headphones, keyboard, and sketch pads. These are all items that help Chelsea talk about her business and connect with her clients. The third and final storyline was showcasing her office and working behind the scenes. This included showing branding boards for her clients. We even snuck in a few snuggles with her sweet dog.

We loved getting to know Chelsea and share her brand story. She is such an amazing business owner and entrepreneur. It was such an honor to help her create images to boost her brand and help her connect with her clients. We can’t wait to see how these images grow her brand!
