Fall Engagement Proposal at Princess Arch in the Red River Gorge

When Dillon reached out to us and wanted to propose to his girlfriend Abby in the Red River Gorge, we were so excited! For several months we got to know Dillon and hear all about his plans to surprise Abby. They were planning a vacation to the gorge, and Dillon wanted to propose during the fall at an overlook.

Abby and Dillon first met when Dillon, a police officer, was directing traffic. A mutual friend of Abby and his drove by honking and waving. Abby was in the back seat without Dillon’s knowledge. Their friend driving the car told her that Abby should date Dillon. Abby thought right away that he was cute. Shortly after the traffic stop, Abby asked Dillon to be her friend on social media. Dillon didn’t know who Abby was but began asking about her through their mutual friends. He eventually got her phone number and asked her out. For their first date, they went to dinner and a movie. Together Abby and Dillon love spending time with their families, picking on each other, and being outdoors.

Dillon knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Abby. So after months of planning everything out, Dillon and Abby hit the trail of Princess Arch. Dillon told Abby that they had dinner reservations at a restaurant. So they got all cleaned up so that they could take a nice picture at Princess Arch and then go to dinner afterward. They arrived at a beautiful lookout spot overlooking the beautiful fall colors. Two hikers were also at the overlook (aka us). We made small talk with them for a moment and took their photo with Abby’s phone. We gave Abby back her phone, and Dillon proposed shortly after. We absolutely loved capturing this sweet moment and celebrating with some engagement photos afterward. It was the perfect day, and we couldn’t be happier for Dillon and Abby.
