Fall Engagement Photos at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky

Brittany and Ryan’s engagement session was on a beautiful fall day at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. We had so much fun adventuring around the gorgeous landscapes filled with white fences, rolling hills, and tall grass. Shaker Village was fun and festive for fall decorated with pumpkins, hay bails, and a carriage. We loved hearing all about Brittany and Ryan’s love story.

Brittany and Ryan first met while they were working for a software company called Custom Business Solutions in Irvine, CA. They were both dating other people at the time but quickly became best friends. It was almost like they had the same language. They started to realize that there was something way more special about their friendship than just being able to laugh with (and at) each other. They found themselves both available and went on a date. It was apparent that this was the last first date either of them would ever go on. Brittany and Ryan are both big car people. So for their first date, Ryan took Brittany offroading in his truck. Ryan would often tease Brittany that he would do those things without her. Finally, he was able to take her along for the ride. The date ended with Ryan grilling steaks and flexing some of his culinary muscles. Together they love playing with their dog Delta, going boating, working out and doing Crossfit, going to concerts, and being outside. Brittany and Ryan both love to cook and try new dishes. They also love going to new places and exploring all the local drinks and cuisine!

Ryan knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Brittany. So one day, he told Brittany he wanted to take their dog down to the beach to swim. Their dog Delta was a total water dog, so he knew it would be the perfect cover. On their way, Ryan first treated Brittany to a manicure. Once that was done, they took their dog Delta down to Laguna Beach. They started to walk along the beach until they found a super secluded cove. Ryan had brought a backpack with Delta’s water toy, a blanket, some towels, a special bandana, and of course, the ring. They threw Delta’s water toy for a while until she became super tired. Ryan then went to the backpack to “get the towel” to dry her off. Instead, Ryan grabbed a bandana the said, “Will you be my mom fur-ever?” He then tied the bandana around Delta’s neck and let her loose. Delta ran up to Brittany and surprised her. Brittany didn’t know what was going on until she turned around to see Ryan down on one knee. Brittany, of course, said Yes!
