Megan and Luke’s wedding was on a beautiful horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky called the Polo Barn at Saxony Farm. The farm is surrounded by rolling hills, black fences, and horses. Megan looked stunning in her dress with a lace top and tulle skirt. Her girls wore mismatched blush, green, and blue dresses. Their bouquets were filled with roses, berries, hydrangeas, and greenery. Luke looked dapper in his grey vest while his groomsmen wore leather suspenders. Luke and Megan shared their first look on a romantic country road. We adventured around the farm where we got to take some photos with an adorable horse. Megan and Luke were married outside overlooking the pretty countryside surrounded by their sweet family and friends. Their reception followed in a large barn lit with round chandeliers. The tables were dressed in white tablecloths and decorated with blush and gold accents. The head table was a large farm table lined with the bride and bridesmaids beautiful bouquets. Their day was absolutely perfect and was filled with so much happiness and love.
Megan and Luke met at work in the emergency department at the UK Medical Center. After they had met they realized Megan had known Luke’s sister for many years from her last job. One day Luke asked Megan if she would like to go to his mother’s farm and target/skeet shoot. It was so easy going and fun especially since they had been friends for a while. Afterward, they went out for dinner. Luke knew that he wanted to propose to Megan and make her forever his. So he decided to take Megan flying and propose to her in the air. His brother was a pilot and so he was going to take her up in a small plane. Megan was a little scared to get in the small plane foiling the plans for the proposal. Luke didn’t let it stop him. He quickly changed his plan to take Megan to her favorite restaurant in Lexington, Carson’s. After dinner, he talked Megan into going over to his sister’s house to see his family one last time before he left for Army training for a month. When they arrived the whole family was sitting around the family room playing on their phones and ipads which was strange to Megan because they were normally very talkative. Then Luke’s niece appeared from the back hallway with a little green box and handed it to him. The next thing Megan knew Luke was down on one knee and crying. It all happened so fast and Megan, of course, said, “Yes!” He then placed the ring on her finger and stood up. Luke’s mom turned her phone around to show Megan that her parents were watching the whole thing from Texas on FaceTime.
Megan and Luke are both so sweet! We have had so much fun getting to know them this year. We feel so honored that they chose us to capture their special day. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure. Congratulations Megan and Luke!
