Jon and Mary chose to have their wedding in Lexington, Kentucky since it is Mary’s hometown. Many of their family and friends traveled from all over the country to spend time with this sweet couple. Mary and Jon planned so many fun events for their guests so that they could experience all of the amazing things that Kentucky has to offer. Such as distillery tours and bourbon tastings. On their wedding day, Mary and Jon got ready at the Downtown Hilton. Mary looked gorgeous in her lace sleeved wedding dress and long cathedral veil. Her bridesmaids wore long purple dresses and their bouquets were filled with an assortment of colorful flowers from hydrangeas to roses. She also carried with her many details to remember her mother and father. Mary’s maid of honor wore red sparkly shoes that her mom was going to wear on the wedding day to honor her memory. Jon looked dapper in his navy tux trimmed in black. His groomsmen were also dashing in their black tuxes. Mary and Jon shared a first look at the Kentucky Castle just before their ceremony. Mary gifted Jon a special watch that meant so much to him. Jon took in every little detail that Mary had picked out for him. It was so sweet to see how much they adored each other and how excited they were to be getting married.
Their ceremony followed in a ballroom inside the Kentucky Castle. It was dressed is crystal chandeliers, marble floors, and a large fireplace. So much laughter and love filled their ceremony as they were surrounded by those that loved them. After the ceremony, we headed back downtown where one of Jon’s groomsmen had scheduled for their names to be featured on the historic Kentucky Theater marquee. Throughout the day it rained a little off and on but Mary and Jon never let it get them down. Instead, they embraced the rain and had a blast taking photos around the Kentucky Castle and downtown Lexington, KY. Their reception was held at Limestone Hall which used to be the city’s old courthouse. The tables were dressed in blue tablecloths and decorated with hydrangeas, roses, greenery, and candles. They had also set aside a special table to remember Mary’s parents so that their guests could get to know them and see Mary’s special memories with them. For their first dance, Mary and Jon danced as indoor sparklers went off all around them. It was such a romantic first dance. Next Mary danced with each of her uncles and Jon danced with his mom. Everyone danced the night away and enjoyed delicious food and drinks while celebrating Mary and Jon. We had so much fun getting to know Mary and Jon. They are both so kind and it is so evident to see just how much they are loved by those around them. We wish them a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure.
