Distillery Engagement Session at Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, KY

Alisha and Andy’s engagement session was at Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. Their love for the bourbon trail brought them all the way from North Carolina to Kentucky. Buffalo Trace was the perfect spot to celebrate their engagement. It is one of the oldest distilleries in the country dating back to over 200 years old. There are so many beautiful and unique places to take photos from the barrel room to the large old buildings. We had so much fun exploring with Alisha and Andy hearing all about their love story. They were both such a joy to work with and we are so happy that this perfect couple has found each other.

They first met while they were both working real estate and have known each other for over 10 years. Alisha and Andy’s first date was in the summer of 2014. Their friendship began to grow and their friends/co-workers began to ask lots of questions. For several months they kept it a secret to see if they would be a good fit. Together they made so many amazing memories and knew that their relationship was something special. Their friends weren’t surprised when they decided to announce that they were dating. Together they live for the water aka Salt Life. Boating, beach time and the pool are some of their favorite things to do together. Often Alisha and Andy leave their Wilmington beach and head to Cherry Grove Beach for more beach and family time. Their time is usually spent with friends and family enjoying good company and cherishing relationships.

On Christmas of 2018, all of the presents had been opened and wrapping paper covered the floor. They started to play with Natalie, Alisha’s daughter, and her new dollhouse. Andy and Alisha had already recorded the entire morning to capture the special time but Alisha noticed Andy trying to set up his phone to record a little bit more. Alisha thought it was silly until Andy announced that there was one last gift to open. He held a small red box in his hand. Alisha started to cry and hugged Andy. She quickly snatched the box out of his hand. She was so excited when she pulled the ring out of the box and slipped it on her hand not realizing that she had stolen Andy’s thunder. It was the moment she had been waiting for. He then asked Alisha if she would marry him. Natalie watched the whole moment unfold. She remembers her mom crying, laughing and sweating all at the same time. After Christmas when they returned home Andy also gave Natalie her own ring. It was the most perfect proposal and a Christmas they will all cherish forever. We are so excited to share some of our favorite photos from their engagement session.
