Finding the perfect engagement session location to celebrate your love story is so important. We love working with our couples to pick out the perfect spot for their engagement photos. We especially love it when a couple chooses a location that is special to them. Maybe it’s where they spent a lot of time together, where they had their first date, where they met, or where their fiance proposed. No matter what they choose we are always up for an adventure. If a couple has a hard time choosing a location we also have some of our favorite spots that we love to share with them. Here are our most popular engagement session locations!
KEENELAND RACECOURSE IN LEXINGTON, KY
Keeneland is a stunning place to celebrate your engagement located in Lexington, KY. If you want to have some Kentucky charm it may be the perfect spot for you. Many couples choose this location for the memories they have made there whether it’s just going to the races together or having their proposal there. It is also chosen as a popular location for its stunning sunsets, the iconic barns, the long rows of trees, weeping willows, racetrack, and grandstand. There is no shortage of locations for amazing engagement photos. Just keep in mind that there is live racing in April and October. In those months you can only do engagement sessions on Mondays and Tuesdays because there is no racing those days. Otherwise, you will have to deal with thousands and thousands of people.

SHAKER VILLAGE IN HARRODSBURG, KY
Shaker Village is one of our most popular locations and is located in Harrodsburg, KY. It is most known for its adorable little houses that are over 200 years old. This charming little village is a one of a kind location but is also true to the breathtaking Kentucky landscape. There are so many different places to take your photos here that it may be hard to choose. From stunning architecture, rolling hills, fields of wildflowers, horses, creeks, a waterfall, barns, rock walls, an orchard, tree swing, and white fences. You are sure to find the perfect spot for your engagement photos at Shaker Village.

THE UNIVERSITY OF KENTUCKY ARBORETUM IN LEXINGTON, KY
The University of Kentucky Arboretum has beautiful gardens, open fields, and a forest located right by UK’s campus in Lexington, KY. It is a stunning location filled with so many different options. A variety of flowers and trees fill the landscape. The forest floor is covered in ivy and can be navigated by dirt trails. In the spring it is filled with colorful flowering trees and rows of tulips. In the summer there is a field of wildflowers and tall grass. In the fall all the leaves change and the landscape looks like a beautiful painting. No matter what season you choose this location is sure to have the perfect spot to celebrate your love story. If you are a Kentucky Wildcats fan you can also get a photo with the UK water tower.

GRATZ PARK IN DOWNTOWN LEXINGTON, KY
Gratz Park is located in downtown Lexington, KY. If you love historic buildings and an urban feel than this may be the perfect spot to have your engagement session. All of the houses surrounding Gratz Park are really different and have so many unique features. You can find blue, pink, yellow, brick, and stone houses nestled in the heart of downtown. There are also surrounding areas that are fun to visit as well such as murals, old churches, alleys, and overlooks of the city. If you love the urban city feel than this may be the perfect spot for you.

ASHLAND THE HENRY CLAY ESTATE IN LEXINGTON, KY
Ashland the Henry Clay Estate is located on the edge of downtown in Lexington, KY. This beautiful spot is more than just a beautiful home. The estate is also filled with a large beautifully gated garden. Surrounding the property are additional structures with beautifully colored yellow brick. WHITE HALL HISTORIC SITE IN RICHMOND, KY
White Hall Historic Site is a beautiful estate located in Richmond, KY. It is surrounded by breathtaking farmland with rolling fields. It has several stunning features that make it one of a kind. It has a small garden with a romantic iron arch. There is also a large pond with a dock that is perfect at sunset. You can also find patches of wildflowers in the summer. The Barn at Springhouse Gardens is located in Nicholasville, KY. It is a beautiful garden center and wedding venue. The property showcases a stunning landscape with a whitewashed old tobacco barn. Buffalo Trace Distillery is one of the oldest bourbon distilleries located in Frankfort, KY. This location has a very strong urban feel with lots of old buildings. The Yuko-En on the Elkhorn is the official Kentucky Japanese Friendship Garden in Georgetown, KY. This 5 1/2 acre park features Japanese style landscaping, pond, and a beautiful red bridge. THE RED RIVER GORGE IN KENTUCKY
The Red River Gorge is one of our favorite locations to photograph with our couples and is located in Slade, KY. There is so much to offer for an adventurous couple. You can find anything from cliff lines, arches, overlooks, waterfalls, creeks, and lakes. It is the most beautiful in the summer and fall. The summer offers lush green forests and the fall is filled with stunning colors. There are so many options to choose from that involve short or long hikes. There is nothing better than spending the day in the gorgeous outdoors exploring while also getting some epic photos of your engagement.
