Liz and Skip were married on one of the most beautiful fall days of the year at Events at Hemlock Springs in the Red River Gorge. Hemlock Springs is a very special place for them because it is where they started their wedding venue business together. Together they have built something so special. The leaves on all the trees had turned beautiful colors. The canopy of trees that surround their property felt like a fairytale. Liz got ready in her beautiful bridal suite with her sweet dog Briggs. She looked stunning in her lace dress with a sheer back and off the shoulder sleeves. Liz made the shawl she wore from the wool she bought while climbing in Mexico with Skip. Skip looked dapper in his grey sweater and khaki pants. Together they shared a private first look in the forest. It was such a sweet and special moment. Their romantic ceremony was in the forest under a yellow canopy of trees. Their reception followed in the barn. The barn was decorated with long rows of farm tables. Fall accents filled the room with pumpkins, real fruit, bamboo cutlery, and tall candlesticks. Liz made most of the desserts on the absolutely stunning dessert table. There were a variety of pies, cakes, and doughnuts. Outside the barn was a fire pit for friends and family to gather around and celebrate this amazing couple. A bluegrass band played fun music and the night ended with lots of dancing and love for Liz and Skip
We feel so blessed to have such amazing friends as Liz and Skip. They are both the most fun, kind, sweet, and awesome people you will ever meet. We feel so honored that they chose us to capture their special day and tell this chapter in their love story. Liz and Skip met while climbing in the Red River Gorge with friends. Their first date was at a little Cuban restaurant. Before they knew it the owners told them that the restaurant was closing and that they had to leave. They kept talking in the parking lot between their cars. Skip asked if he could see Liz again and they have been together ever since. On a January day, Skip suggested they take a hike and enjoy the warmer temperatures and sunshine. Liz got dressed in a heartbeat and was ready to go but Skip dragged his feet. He asked Liz to take their dog Briggs to play fetch while he finished getting ready. Liz thought this was strange but didn’t argue about it. Skip was eventually ready and they drove to the Gray’s Arch trailhead. As they had finished their hike they started to walk back towards the parking lot. Skip led Liz off the trail to view the sunset. Liz thought it would be the perfect time to break out some snacks. Skip declined and waited for the perfect moment. Skip then got down on one knee and proposed. Liz was so surprised and happy. She of course said, Yes! We are so happy for Liz and Skip and wish them many years of love, happiness, and adventure.
