Fall Engagement Session at Shaker Village With Dogs in Harrodsburg, KY

Melissa and Eric’s engagement session was in the fall at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. The trees were starting to turn their leaves into so many stunning colors. We had so much exploring with them and their sweet dogs. Shaker Village was the perfect spot to celebrate Melissa and Eric’s engagement. We had so much fun chatting and hearing all about their love story. Melissa and Eric met when they were both in high school. Melissa was a freshman and Eric was a sophomore. Melissa went to a park with a friend.  Her friend saw a guy they both knew from class who was with Eric. They talked for a few minutes and then went their own ways. That night Eric found Melissa on Myspace and sent her a chat message saying how good it was to meet her. They realized that they only lived a 5-minute walk from each other for years and had never run into each other. Their first date was at a local pizza place called Nicks. They were both very nervous and ended up getting a thin crust cheese pizza with water. They always joke about how silly they were because they both would have loved a deep dish pizza with mountain dew.

After being together for many years and moving to Texas together Eric knew that he wanted to ask Melissa to marry him. Eric took Melissa to the Dallas Arboretum for a picnic in November to see the fall colors because he knew how much she loved them. Melissa had no idea what he was planning. She made Eric walk around the entire arboretum with a huge over your shoulder cooler to look at all the trees, ponds, and flowers. They found the perfect spot for their picnic and spent the time talking about how much they had done and accomplished together. Eric then proposed in front of the only red tree in the entire park (her favorite) in a sweet and private moment. Melissa, of course, said yes! We are so excited to celebrate with them in 2020 at the Barn at Cedar Grove.
