Engagement Session at White Hall State Historic Site in Richmond, KY

Ben and Kristine’s engagement session was at the beautiful White Hall State Historic Site in Richmond, Kentucky. It is a historic estate that sits on rolling farmland and was built in the 1700’s. It was the perfect place to celebrate Kristine and Ben’s engagement. We had so much fun exploring the grounds and getting to know them and hearing all about their love story. They are both so sweet and just perfect for each other. Ben and Kristine met online in August of 2017. They talked every day for 3 months. Ben decided to fly to Shanghai to meet Kristine. When he arrived she was waiting for him at the airport as happy as could be. They instantly clicked. They spent some time in the airport getting to know each other along with a 1 hour Uber car ride to where he was staying. It was the perfect chance for them to get to know each other even better. It was totally worth the 22-hour flight transfer and Ben losing his phone. During his trip, Ben got to meet her friends, mom, and pastor.

Ben knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Kristine. One day while they were riding in the car Ben asked Kristine, “When do you think is a good time for us to get married?” She was thinking…..now? Instead, she said, “you know when the right time comes.” Little did she know that the ring was in his pocket. That evening they were near Newport, KY so Ben took Kristine close to where he used to work where there was a beautiful view. They walked along the river and Ben asked her where his Bible was. Kristine confused said she didn’t know but suggested that it might be in the car. Ben left for a moment to the car leaving Kristine by the chilly river. When he returned he didn’t have the Bible. Kristine was ready to head back to the car but Ben made her stay while he searched on his phone. Kristine was confused because he wouldn’t let her see what he was searching for and with the chilly weather, she was ready to go. Ben then found a Bible verse about love that he was searching for and shared it with Kristine. When he finished he was blushing and then got down on one knee telling her many sweet things. Kristine was shocked and frozen. He asked her to marry him and she, of course, said Yes!
