Gender Reveal Baby Thompson is a Boy!!!!

Oh boy! We can’t believe that we are having a baby boy. We knew that we would be overjoyed with whatever God blessed us with. The thought of envisioning life with our little person made us do the early gender test at 16 weeks. Kevin had already decided in his mind that we were having a boy. I on the other hand along with almost all of our friends and family thought our sweet baby would be a girl. Kevin comes from a family of all girls and his Dad even has 5 sisters. I come from a family of all girls as well. So the thought of our baby being a boy didn’t seem to have very good odds. I secretly thought having a boy would be wonderful since two important people in my life had boys that would be 6 months to 2 years older than him. All that being said I kept those thoughts in my heart but was just happy and blessed to have a healthy baby whoever he or she would be.

We knew we wanted to do something fun and epic. There are so many unique ways to do a gender reveal that choosing was difficult. That was until Kevin came upon the cannons. He was so excited and wanted it to remain a secret so that everyone would be surprised. We had at first decided that we would go to our appointment and find out before everyone else and then choose the right colored cannons. We had our friend Scott with Scott Hayes Productions do a precious and amazing video that we will treasure forever for us (SEE BELOW). He convinced us to let the gender be a surprise for us until we fired off the cannons. So when we went to see the ultrasound we got to see the baby’s sweet little face and its kicking feet. It made it even harder to wait for the results and not to peek in the envelope.

Kevin’s parent’s hosted us at their house with sweet treats and lots of love. All of our families and some of our friends joined us for the epic reveal. As we stood there holding the cannons I started to cry before it even started. It finally hit me that we were about to know what our baby was going to be. On the count of 3 we shot off the cannons and BLUE smoke and confetti came streaming out. I was shocked! It was the most perfect and amazing surprise. Kevin who had known all along celebrated his new baby boy while I cried happy tears. Our sweet friends Keith and Melissa Photography graciously took the amazing photos to help us remember all the emotion of the day. It was one of the best days of my life.

To say that we are so excited to have a baby boy is an understatement. We can’t stop dreaming of all the things he will become and can’t wait to be his parents. We feel so blessed that God has given him to us. We cannot wait to share the fun journey with you! Make sure to see all the sweet photos and video from our gender reveal below.
