Downtown Winter Engagement Session at Michler’s Greenhouses and Gratz Park

Elizabeth and Sean’s engagement session was on a warm January day in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. I (Anna) have grown up knowing Elizabeth since we were young so I was so excited when she asked us to photograph their wedding this summer. We loved meeting Sean and could tell right away that they were perfect for each other. It brings so much joy to my heart when they make each other laugh. We can’t wait to celebrate with them on their wedding day.

To celebrate their love they decided that they wanted to stroll around downtown. We started at Michler’s Greenhouses which is in the heart of downtown and over 100 years. It was the perfect spot to find a little bit of green in the winter. Next, we headed to Gratz Park which is known for it’s colorful and unique homes and architecture. We then ended the night on the top of a parking garage that overlooks the city. In the background, you can see the old courthouse and many other historic landmarks. We had so much fun getting to know these two lovebirds and learning all about their love story.

For their first date, they went to orange leaf and stayed out too late laughing and poking at plot holes in their favorite movies. They both became the best of friends and bonded over their love for food and coffee dates. Sean knew he wanted to make Elizabeth forever his so he chose one of his favorite places in the world. In State College, PA there is a little quiet arboretum with a gigantic fountain. It was a beautiful sunny day. Sean got down on one knee and asked Elizabeth to marry him. She said yes! In celebration, they got in the fountain and Sean handed her the ring box and asked, “What now?” Together they laughed and celebrated taking plenty of pictures to remember the special moment.
