Summer Wildflower Engagement Session at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY

Emily and Jace picked one of the most beautiful and breathtaking places in Kentucky to take their engagement photos. With the rolling hills, historic houses, and white picket fences, Shaker Village is a true view into the heart of Kentucky. Emily traveled up from Texas to visit her fiance Jace who is currently playing for the Lexington Legends Baseball Team. We had a beautiful day and a perfectly glowing sunset. The love that these two have for each other is just so sweet and we couldn’t happier that they are getting married.

Emily and Jace met the fall of their freshman year while they both played sports and attended Junior College.  Jace played baseball while Emily played volleyball. They were introduced after church one day while their friends went out for lunch. From that moment on, they started dating. That next spring semester Emily left Junior College to play volleyball for Texas State. Almost every weekend Emily would drive back to see Jace play baseball. Jace moved to college station and played baseball for A&M and after one season he was drafted. They continued to date long distance through the remainder of their relationship.

While Emily was home her mom told her that they were going to be taking family photos. That was nothing new for Emily’s family so she didn’t think much about it. She was a little confused why the family photo wasn’t rescheduled because the weather was not good for photos. Emily had no idea that Jace and his family along with her best friend had all driven to Longview to decorate a gazebo where Jace was going to propose. Emily and her family got in the car to head to the photo shoot. They started going in the opposite direction but Emily went along with it thinking she didn’t want to get her hopes up. As they drove up to the gazebo Jace was there waiting for Emily. Jace walked Emily into the gazebo which was beautifully decorated. There were photos hung in chronological order from when they first met to now. Emily remembers Jace looking so handsome in his new jacket he had bought. He asked her to marry him and of course, she said, “Yes.” It wasn’t until Jace gave Emily a new Bible inscribed with her name that she began to cry. All of their family then came out of hiding and celebrated with them and took photos. When they got back to Emily’s house there were, even more, friends and family to help them celebrate. We are so excited to share some of our favorite photos from their engagement session with you all.
