Surprise Engagement Proposal at the Arboretum in Lexington, KY (Involving Two Cute Doggies)

When Matt called us and told us about his plan to propose to his girlfriend Kiley at the Arboretum we were so excited! We met him in the parking lot of the Arboretum one evening while Kiley was at work and he told us all about his master plan. The Arboretum is one of their favorite places to go and they love taking their dogs through it. So Matt knew that it would be the perfect place to ask Kiley to marry him. He also knew that the dogs had to be a part of the special occasion. We walked all over the Arboretum discussing our best options for the surprise engagement proposal.

Matt and Kiley’s first date was at the Newport Aquarium. It was a perfect place to have fun and get to know each other. Their first date was very special because it is where they realized just how open they could be with each other. After the aquarium, they watched the sunset overlooking the river. Kiley and Matt dated for two years long distance but almost never missed a weekend together. Kiley moved down to Lexington shortly after graduating from college. They finally got to start enjoying the relationship they had always hoped to have!

When the big day came we met both Kiley and Matt’s family in the parking lot. We took them to the edge of the forest so that they could surprise Kiley after the proposal. We (Kevin and Anna) headed back to the forest and got situated in our secret spots so that Kiley wouldn’t know we were there. As they walked down the path Matt stopped at the spot we had picked out and asked Kiley if their dog had a new dog tag. Kiley had no idea what was going on but the dogs were quickly aware of people hiding in the forest haha. As she bent down she saw that the front of the tag said “Kiley” and the back said, “Will You Marry Me.” Matt quickly grabbed the ring box out of one of the dog’s packs and he pulled out the ring. Matt already down on one knee asked Kiley to marry him to which she happily replied yes! As they walked out of the forest we took some sweet pictures of them while I suggested we head towards the garden for some more photos. As Kiley and Matt exited the forest their parents were there to greet them with excitement. Congratulation Matt and Kiley we are so excited for you all and are so blessed to have been a part of this once in a lifetime experience for you both.
