Rain is the last thing that anyone would wish for on their wedding day. Instead of worrying about the possible chance of rain why not prepare yourself with a backup plan so that no matter what happens you will be taken care of either way. Rain does not ruin a wedding day it only causes a few things to change. So make sure that you are prepared on your special day by following these tips!
Have a Backup Location
No one loves an outdoor ceremony and reception more than us. If you are dreaming of that outdoor ceremony do not let the chance of rain keep you from doing it! By having a backup location for the ceremony you are able to ensure that you can have the ceremony of your dreams either way. Also, when you are looking for a venue it is a good idea to find a location that will supplement for both rain or shine.
Just Go With It
Just because it is raining doesn’t mean that your day can’t be just as special. Stressing out about it won’t change anything, so instead of letting it get you down let it be an opportunity to do something a little different. There may be plenty of great places to photograph inside the venue or under a simple covered porch. Clear umbrellas can be a great way of dealing with the rain and making some romantic and fun photos. This will allow you to still get some outdoor wedding photos but keep everyone as dry as possible at the same time.
The Weather Can Change
Just because it says it’s going to rain doesn’t mean it will. We have seen plenty of weddings that were supposed to have a 60% chance of rain and it ended up not raining at all or very little. We are constantly checking the weather with an amazing app that we have. Being flexible and willing to run out if the sky opens up can produce some amazing results. We have done sparkler exits early because we had a break from the rain. We were able to get some great photos and then everyone went back in and kept the party going.
Sunsets and Rainbows
With the chance of rain also comes rainbows and gorgeous sunsets. So a little rain on your wedding day might mean more than just a little good luck. You may end of with the most beautiful sky and romantic bride and groom portraits. The key is staying positive and being open to whatever happens.
