Spring Wedding On A Private Horse Farm in Lexington, KY

The setting for Whitney and Colin’s spring wedding was on a beautiful romantic horse farm in Lexington, KY. The day was filled with lots of laughter and love as they prepared for their special day. They had a sweet country ceremony with hail bale seating and horses grazing in the background. The bridesmaids wore long gorgeous lavender dresses and their bouquets were filled with lavender roses and assorted pink flowers. Their reception took place in a gorgeous white tent strung with lights and a black and white checkered dance floor. Our favorite part of the night was when we took Colin and Whitney out into the pastures for sunset photos. We entered a gated field and started taking some sweet romantic portraits when all the sudden dozens of young thoroughbred horses came running towards us. It was definitely a perfect way to watch the sunset and reflect on how special the day had been for Colin and Whitney.

Colin and Whitney first met at the University of Kentucky through mutual friends. Colin’s fraternity brothers from Mt. Washington were close childhood friends of Whitney’s. Colin and Whitney reconnected in 2011 at a friend’s derby party. They began to talk as friends throughout the summer and wondered what would have happened if Whitney had said yes to a date Colin had asked her to go on in college. Finally later that summer Colin took Whitney out on a date to Cumberland Brews in the Highlands in Louisville, KY. Colin knocked Whitney off her feet when he proposed to her on a bridge in Georgia overlooking the water at his sister’s lake house. It made for an unforgettable and special Thanksgiving.

We had so much fun capturing Whitney and Colin’s special day. We felt so loved by them and their family and friends. We are so happy for them and wish them many years of love, adventure, and happiness. We also want to thank all of the amazing wedding vendors who made this day possible.
