Winter Wedding at Saint Raphael Episcopal Church in Lexington, KY

Jordan and Joanna your wedding at Saint Raphael Episcopal Church in Lexington, KY was so sweet and romantic. Growing up Joanna and I (Anna) attended a small private school together. We played volleyball on the same team and I always looked up to her because she was older than me. Back then she was always really sweet and encouraging. Fast forward years later we ran into each other and reconnected. I loved following her on facebook and seeing all of her adventures with her bunny. If I didn’t already have two cats and a dog she would have convinced me that owning a bunny is a must. I was so excited to see that she found a special man in her life. We were so excited and honored when they asked us to photograph their special day.

Jordan and Joanna first met 9 years ago at their church. They mainly knew each other from a distance until Jordan decided to ask her out after much prayer. After church, one year ago on February 14, 2016, Jordan asked Joanna out to lunch. They quickly discovered that they were perfect for each other. Jordan planned a very romantic proposal to ask Joanna to be his wife. They started off the day zip lining in the Red River Gorge. Afterward, they returned to Joanna’s house and Jordan led her into the backyard. He had decorated the backyard with a bunch of luminaries and had prepared a gorgeous table on the deck for them to eat Guiseppe’s. Jordan had carved several pumpkins asking Joanna to marry him. He even took the time to carve a yes and no pumpkin. Good thing she said yes!

We loved all of the details she chose from her gorgeous dress from Wedding Wonderland to her navy bridesmaid dresses. Joanna had a beautiful bouquet of cream lisianthus, white hydrangeas, eucalyptus, and brunia berries by Kreations by Karen. It was so amazing to capture the love between Joanna and Jordan! My favorite part of the day was when all of their family and friends got up and spoke about them and their character. It truly was inspiring to hear so many stories about how they had touched so many different people’s lives. After Joanna and Jordan’s bubble exit after the reception, we headed over to Keeneland Racecourse. We spent the next hour until sunset celebrating their day and just capturing the genuine love between them.
