Kaitlin and Shea were married at the beautiful and historic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, Kentucky. Buffalo Trace is known for it’s Kentucky bourbon as well as being one of the oldest distilleries in Kentucky. It was the perfect place for all of Kaitlin and Shea’s guests to celebrate their special day. We loved their wedding full of blush and blue. Kaitlin’s gorgeous dress had a slight tint of blush with a long flowing skirt and beaded top. The girls got ready in a large vintage loft in downtown Shelbyville, Kentucky. Her bridesmaids wore long slate blue dresses and their bouquets were filled with peonies, blush roses, and greenery. Shea looked dapper in his gray suit, blush tie and cufflinks made from watch gears. Kaitlin and Shea shared a private moment for their first look. Shea gifted Kaitlin with a gold bracelet. Before he met Kaitlin he was in India and decided to buy the bracelet for his future wife. It was the equivalent to buying an engagement ring in Indian culture. Kaitlin gifted Shea with a book full of photographs with all of their favorite memories. Shortly after, their ceremony took place in a large garden outside under a large tree. Flowers and bourbon barrels lined the aisle. All of their friends and family had traveled from all over the world to be there on their special day. Kaitlin and Shea’s reception followed at the clubhouse. The tables were decorated with flowers, burlap, and pieces of tree trunks. Both Kaitlin and Shea are both full of adventure and love for the outdoors. We had so much fun celebrating their special day and getting to know them.
Kailin and Shea met in Washington, D.C. Their first date was at a coffee shop. They had such a wonderful time that they walked down the street to check out a bourbon and whiskey bar. So Buffalo Trace was the perfect way to come full circle by getting married there. Kaitlin and Shea took a trip to Patagonia. They hiked the iconic Mount Fitz Roy. On the way up the weather was really rainy, snowy, windy and chilly. When they got to the top they stopped for lunch and took in the beautiful view. The sky started to clear and it was time to hike back down. Shea called to Kaitlin to come look at another beautiful view. Kaitlin started running to Shea because he was down on one knee. The rest of the hike was pure bliss! We loved spending this special day with such a sweet and amazing couple. We wish Kaitlin and Shea so much love, adventure, and happiness. We also want to give a big shout out to all of the amazing vendors who made their day so special. Make sure to visit the bottom of the blog to see a list of the creative team.
