Engagement Session With a Beautiful Waterfall at Shaker Village

Megan and Andrew are so full of joy, love, and laughter. These two are so much fun to be around and know how to have a good time together. When we saw the dark clouds rolling in, instead of letting it get them down they faced it head on and quite literally danced in the rain. Their engagement session was at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Shaker Village is filled with so many beautiful landscapes from country roads, fields of white wildflowers and a romantic waterfall. When we arrived at the waterfall we had a brief moment of golden light shining through the trees. The skies were pretty dark while we were hiking in and to our amazement the sun came out just for them. Shortly after that, the rain started to come down again but we were able to get some sweet and romantic portraits with a clear umbrella. It was definitely worth the fun memories!

Andrew and Megan first met at a New Year’s Eve party when they were seniors in high school. They danced and had fun but it wasn’t until their sophomore year at the University of Kentucky that they saw each other again. They both attended a party and reconnected. One of their common joys together is their love for food. Some of their favorite college date night spots were Bourbon n’ Toulouse, Pazzos, Hacienda and of course late night bacon cheese fries at Tolly Ho. This year will mark Megan and Andrew as college sweethearts for 8 years!

On New Year’s Eve in 2016, they went into downtown Winter Garden, Florida with some of their friends. They decided to take some pictures before dinner. Megan loves taking pictures and so she wasn’t expecting anything. When it came time for their photos, Andrew turned to her and popped the question. Megan was so surprised she started crying. She had no idea that Andrew had been planning the proposal for months and that all of her friends had kept it a secret. We are so excited for Megan and Andrew’s wedding this year at The Barn at Springhouse Gardens in Nicholasville, Kentucky. Check back then to see the rest of their love story unfold.
