Fun Fall Engagement Session in a Horse Farm in Lexington, KY

Lucas and Maggie’s engagement session was at a horse farm in Lexington, Kentucky. It is a special location to Maggie because it is where she boards her horse and where they got engaged. We loved getting to celebrate with them and capture some fun memories hearing all about their love story.

Similar to a lot of modern couples, Lucas and Maggie met online. While Lucas was confident about their compatibility and wanted to meet immediately, Maggie took a little more convincing. Finally, after getting to know each other better and Lucas asking her out ten times, Maggie finally agreed to their first date. Lucas and Maggie had their first date eating dinner at BJs Restaurant and Brewhouse and then dessert at Orange Leaf. They spent over four hours together on that first date. Even though it was cold and misting, Maggie was too stubborn to go back inside and did not want the date to end. Lucas and Maggie enjoy spending time outside playing with their dog Roo. They also love to stay inside, playing video games, and watching movies. Over the last 3 years together, they have gone on countless road trips and plan to take many more.

Lucas originally planned on proposing to Maggie on their trip to Yellowstone. Once he figured out that Maggie had caught on to his plan, he decided to change things up. He decided that since they met and fell in love here in Lexington, that is where he wanted to propose. Knowing Maggie’s love for her horse, he knew the perfect scene for proposing, the barn that she keeps her horse at. They had spent the afternoon taking some marketing photos with Maggie’s horse. Lucas convinced Maggie that she should get on her horse for the next photo. She was reluctant because she had not ridden recently due to an injury but got on anyway. Lucas went back to the truck to “get something”. He returned with the ring in his hand and asked her to marry him. She was so shocked the first thing she said was “What?”. Once she realized what was happening, she ecstatically said yes! We are so happy for Maggie and Lucas and can’t wait to celebrate their wedding with them next year!
