Taylor and Mark’s engagement session was at the University of Kentucky Arboretum. We loved getting to walk around the beautiful gardens and celebrate their engagement. Everything was starting to have that fall feeling, from the flowers to the crisp cool air. We had so much fun getting to know Taylor and Mark. We can’t wait to capture their wedding at The Kentucky Castle next year.
Taylor and Mark first met in college in their communications class in 2010. They were put in a group project together. Taylor and Mark were never that good of friends in college, and then Taylor moved to Dallas. They did not see or speak to each other for almost six years, and then they reconnected over social media. Taylor and Mark talked to each other nonstop for about two years before they finally met up again after so many years. Their first date was supposed to be in Nashville. Taylor was flying there for the SEC tournament in March of 2020, and Mark would be there for work. Unfortunately, their trips got canceled due to Covid, so Taylor rerouted her trip to Lexington to stay with Mark for the weekend. Taylor and Mark went to Giuseppe’s and then Charlie Browns. Together Mark and Taylor love to try new restaurants and tour all of the bourbon distilleries. They travel a lot and are always going to football games! They also spend lots of time with their dog, Teddy.
Mark knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Taylor. He proposed at Buffalo Trace Distillery while they were doing a bourbon tasting. Their tour guide sat a bottle of Pappy Van Winkle in front of Taylor that said Will You Marry Me, and Mark got down on one knee and proposed! Mark had the ring custom-made from a friend of his who is a jeweler. We are so excited for Taylor and Mark and can’t wait to celebrate with them next year.
