Winter Engagement Session in Downtown Lexington, Kentucky

Madi and Joe’s engagement session was at Gratz Park in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. We loved wandering around downtown looking at all of the historic houses beautifully decorated for Christmas. We loved getting to know Madi and Joe and hearing all about their love story. Madi and Joe met senior year of undergrad. For their first date, they went to a UK basketball game. Madi and Joe didn’t have a strong connection, and after a few dates, they eventually went their separate ways. It wasn’t until a few years later that they reconnected on New Years’. Their first official date was on Joe’s birthday weekend in January of 2018. Madi and Joe went to Saul Good Restaurant and met up with friends to watch a UK basketball game. Together Madi and Joe love to go hiking in the Red River Gorge, discover new tv shows to watch, go exploring new cities’ downtowns, and whip up recipes in the kitchen. Madi and Joe love that they balance each other out as well. Joe is more outgoing and fits right in at any gathering. Madi is more reserved and tends to observe more before jumping in. Joe is excellent at pulling Madi out of her shell.

Joe knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Madi. So on a trip to Fort Lauderdale in October, they planned for a small getaway. During the trip, Madi and Joe planned to eat at a restaurant on the beach called Aruba Beach Cafe. Before going in, Joe suggested they take some photos on the beach in their nice clothes. Joe asked a random stranger to take the photo. He then got down on one knee and asked Madi to marry him. We are so happy for Madi and Joe and cannot wait to celebrate with them at their wedding next year. Stay tuned for their wedding day love story!
