Fall Couples Session at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, Kentucky

Kelsey and Peyton’s couples session was on a beautiful fall day at Keeneland Racecourse in Lexington, KY. All the leaves had changed gorgeous shades of yellow, orange, and red. It made for the perfect place to capture some sweet memories for Kelsey and Peyton. We loved walking around the beautiful Keeneland grounds getting to know them, and hearing all about their love story.

When Kelsey and Peyton were both 13, they attended the same middle school in their hometown. Kelsey sat in front of Peyton one morning in the bleachers in the school gym. He was reading Mockingjay, the third book of the Hunger Games series, so she immediately thought he was cute. Kelsey and her best friend noticed the tag was sticking out of his shirt. Being the giggly 13-year-old girls they were, Kelsey’s friend dared her to push it back in his shirt, so she did. Peyton turned around and said, oh, thanks! Later, they became close because they were both on the academic team. Kelsey and Peyton remained friends but had feelings for each other. Once they were, 17 Kelsey finally agreed to date, Peyton. After all those years he spent chasing her, it was a big deal! For their first date, they went bowling with some friends. They had a great time with all their friends and kept flirting with each other. At the end, Peyton nervously asked Kelsey if she still wanted to consider it a date, and Kelsey said yes. Together Peyton and Kelsey love playing video games, arguing about computer engineering and computer science, and gossiping like old women.

In college, Kelsey and Peyton went back to their hometown for Christmas break. They decided to drive to have lunch at Taco Bell when Peyton asked Kelsey if she wanted to stop and look at engagement rings. They found the perfect ring that was 60% off for a whopping total of $30. In the car on the way to Taco Bell, he said, “well… I guess…. will you marry me?” Kelsey laughed and said, yes. After a four year engagement, the pandemic hit, and they decided they didn’t want to wait any longer to get married. Kelsey and Peyton had an intimate ceremony at Jacobson Park on 7/11/2020. It was a perfect day overlooking the lake with 25 of their closest family and friends.
