Summer Engagement Photos at the Arboretum in Lexington, KY

Denise and Bill’s engagement session was at the University of Kentucky’s Arboretum in Lexington, KY. Bill had just asked Denise to marry him right before the session at a local restaurant special to them. He then surprised her with an engagement session to celebrate. The Arboretum made for the perfect spot to celebrate Denise and Bill. It was filled with stunning flowers and golden light. We had so much fun walking around the Arboretum, getting to know Denise and Bill, and hearing all about their love story.

Denise and Bill first met when Bill’s father introduced them. They both worked in the same field, and Denise was contemplating a job change. Bill’s father gave him Denise’s resume to pass along to his organization. Shortly after that, Bill was in Pennsylvania, visiting his mom and dad for the holidays. He attended their church and met Denise in person. Bill was so taken by Denise that he emailed her later that same day. Bill found out Denise was moving to Kentucky, and a few weeks later, Bill’s work brought him to Kentucky. He called Denise and then asked her to dinner. Bill drove up from Chattanooga, and together they had dinner at Dudley’s on Short. They had such a fantastic evening together filled with great conversation and connection. When they left the restaurant, it started to snow, and Bill kissed Denise on the corner of Short and Market. Bill had told Denise at dinner that he wanted it to be a fantastic night, better than prom, Christmas, or her best first date ever. Afterward, they went back to Denise’s place and played the old school vinyl record of Journey and danced like it was prom. Denise then gave Bill a Christmas present. It was a fantastic evening, and they have been inseparable ever since. Together they love to hike, camp, ride bikes, kayak, paddleboard, and run. Anything outdoors together is what they love to do. Bill and Denise love each other’s company even if it means just sitting on the couch.

Bill knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Denise. So for dinner, they went back to where they had their first date and had dinner at Dudley’s on Short. Bill surprised Denise with a lottery card that you scratch off. When she scratched it off, she won Bill’s heart. He then gave her a box with 25 reasons he loves her written on parchment paper with the last one asking her to marry him. Bill presented her with a poem expressing his love and how blessed he is that God brought Denise, an amazing women, into his life. It was an answer to his prayers. Bill gave Denise a bottle of wine with a label that said, “Will You Marry Me?” and two glasses etched with one saying “One Lucky Mr.” and “Soon to be Mrs.” with wedding rings on them. When dinner was over, Bill surprised Denise with a photoshoot with us at the Arboretum. Bill had the ring custom made. He drew it in CAD and had it specifically designed for specific things in their lives. Each stone and the placement has meaning to their lives and their journey and where it had taken them to get to each other. The inscription inside of the ring also has a special meaning and is in Hebrew. Bill had been praying for a Proverbs 31 woman for several years. God fulfilled everything he could ever hope for in Denise. They are so blessed to have each other and can’t wait to get married this fall. We are so excited that Bill and Denise have found each other, and we hope they have a lifetime of love, happiness, and adventure!
