Late Fall Engagement Session at Gratz Park in Downtown Lexington, Kentucky

Jessie and Nick’s engagement session was on a beautiful fall day at Gratz Park in downtown Lexington, Kentucky. We had so much exploring around downtown with Jessie, Nick, and their sweet puppy Dixie. Surrounding the park are so many beautiful historic homes as well as Transylvania University where Jessie and Nick met. So it was so special to get to see where they met and hear all about their love story. Nick and Jessie were students when they met at Transylvania University in 2013. Jessie was a freshman and Nick was a sophomore. They started off as friends and then he asked her on a date. Nick picked Jessie up at her dorm. They were both very nervous. He was so sweet opening the car door and drove her to get dinner to what was supposed to be Joe Bologna’s but instead, they ended up next door at Cinco de Mayo. It worked out perfectly because Cinco de Mayo ended up being Jessie’s favorite restaurant throughout college. Since the school year was almost over, Jessie would soon be going back to Taylorsville and Nick would be going back to Harveysburg, OH. So on their first date, they talked about visiting each other over the summer to make the long distance work. On June 21, 2014, Nick asked Jessie to be his girlfriend by giving her a CD with songs that made him think of her.

Nick knew that he wanted to spend the rest of his life with Jessie. So he took her out to dinner at Bonefish. They had eaten so much that they didn’t have any room for dessert but Jessie loves chocolate cake and so they took some to go. During dinner, Jessie noticed that Nick was making his nervous face and she kept asking, “why are you looking at me like that?” When they got home Nick told Jessie to sit in their recliner in the living room. He then turned off the lights which freaks Jessie out because she doesn’t like the dark. Since it was pitch dark Jessie had no idea that Nick had knelt down in front of her. He then opened up the ring box which had a light in it making the ring the only thing she could see. Nick then proceeded to ask, “Jessica Marie Wilson will you marry me?” She, of course, said YES and jumped on top of him in excitement! They then celebrated with their chocolate cake. It was the most perfect night! We are so excited to celebrate with them next year Evans Orchard in Georgetown, KY.
