Anna and Clinton’s engagement session was at one of the most beautiful places in Kentucky Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY. They had the most spectacular golden sunset to celebrate their engagement. We had so much fun walking through the village and with Anna and Clinton and getting to know them. We learned quickly that these two are full of so much joy, laughter, and are completely head over heels for each other. We couldn’t be more excited about their wedding next summer at Limestone Hall in downtown, Lexington, KY.
While Anna and Clinton were in college, they attended the same social gathering with some of their friends. Anna saw Clinton across the room and thought he was super cute. She told her friends, but they thought he had a girlfriend. Anna enjoyed the rest of her night and didn’t worry about the cute boy across the room. Then all of the sudden Clinton came up to her and asked her to dance. Anna said, “no you have a girlfriend” and she walked away. Some time went by and they would see each other around but didn’t make a connection. A few months later they started talking. Clinton thought he had lost his opportunity with Anna until he found out from her friend that Anna had been talking about him. Their first date was at Logan’s Roadhouse with a group of their friends. The date was sweet for both of them and the start of something special.
It had been storming all day when Clinton randomly asked Anna to go for a walk. She thought it seemed a little odd but decided to go. Clinton decided to take Anna to the UK Arboretum. He was really worked up because he wanted to make sure he found the right entrance. Anna was confused because she didn’t think it mattered. She obviously had no idea what Clinton was planning. As they started walking, they came to a tree off the path, and it had a heart shaped sign with a date and a little note. It was the day they met and a note that said, “If you believe in love at first no…. then this was it.” As Anna started to read she realized what was happening. She asked if she could quickly pick up the sign, but Clinton told her no and that those weren’t hers to try to throw her off. As they walked to the garden, there were additional signs with special dates of significance in their relationship. It wasn’t until she reached the final sign that said, “will you marry me?” that she knew for sure. Clinton then got down on one knee and popped the question. Anna said, Yes!” and shortly after found her sister hiding in the bushes excited and celebrating. We are so excited to share some of our favorite photos from their engagement session. Be sure to check back next July to see the rest of their love story unfold.
