Winter Engagement Session in Downtown Lexington, Kentucky

The first time that we met Eva, we could tell that we would be friends right away. We were really looking forward to meeting her fiance Logan during their engagement session. We were a little nervous about how cold it was going to be that day, but then quickly remembered that Eva was from Michigan. She would probably be better at facing the cold weather than we would. Not only did they rock their winter engagement session but warmed it up it up with their cute blanket and love for each other. The homes that line the historic neighborhood of Gratz Park were decorated with festive Christmas decor. The whole street looked like a scene from a Christmas card.

Logan and Eva were both in medical school at the University of Kentucky when they first met. Logan was a year ahead of Eva and had seen her at a party but had never gotten the chance to talk with her. In the spring her friends encouraged her to get on Tinder because it was so funny to see their whole class on there. When she came to Logan she swiped right because she had seen him before. It was more of a “hey what’s up we’re both in med school” type of gesture. Within a minute Logan replied saying “is that you running away from the neuroscience exam?” This was in reference to her profile picture of her running. They both hit it off right away and had their first date exploring some of the local bars. Eva had lived in Lexington for almost a year, but had never been downtown. Logan showed her the sights by taking her to Parlay Social and several other bars. They had so much fun walking around downtown for hours and getting to know each other.

Logan and Eva are getting married this spring at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. It is no surprise they are getting married there because that is where Logan proposed to Eva. On October 14, 2016 they decided to go to Shaker Village to have dinner. Logan was frustrated because he was kept late at work and remarked about missing the sunset. These were both uncharacteristic things for Logan to say but Eva didn’t think much about it. When they got to Shaker Village it was a gorgeous cool fall night. Once they arrived they decided to walk around and enjoy the cool brisk air and listen to a band that was playing outside. It felt as if they had the whole place to themselves with the romantic countryside and the band playing in the background. As Eva stood there admiring the stars she turned to kiss Logan. As she turned to kiss him, Logan held up a box saying “Eva, will you marry me?” Eva was so surprised and nervous that the first thing she said was “Are you joking?” trying to piece together what was happening. She quickly changed her answer to “yes, yes, yesss!” Logan put the ring on her finger and they walked to the Trustee building for the most romantic dinner ever.

They were such a joy to be around and we love just how radiant their love for each other is. We are so excited about photographing their wedding day at Shaker Village this spring.
