Romantic Sunset Engagement Session at the Ashford Acres Inn in Cynthiana, Kentucky

Maria and Matt found the sweetest little treasure to get married at. The Ashford Acres Inn is located out in the country in Cynthiana, Kentucky. It is a gorgeous wedding venue located in the middle of some of the most beautiful farms. We were so excited to meet up with Matt and Mariah to explore their wedding venue. Inside the Inn, the rooms are newly renovated with gorgeous decor. Together we had fun envisioning all the perfect places to capture their special memories on their wedding day. The grounds are filled with old rustic barns, fields, fences, and of course the breathtaking historic inn. We had the most beautiful sunset and soaked up every little bit of fall color on the trees. We can’t wait to revisit this special place with Matt and Maria next time to celebrate their wedding day!

Matt and Mariah’s love story started in college. They dated for 4 years and not only fell in love but became the best of friends. When Matt discovered that the Solar Eclipse would be happening nearby on August 21, 2017 he knew that he wanted to use that special day to ask Mariah to marry him.  Together they planned a trip to Clarksville, TN which was in the line of totality for the eclipse. They made a shadow box to use before totality. Matt slipped a piece of paper inside saying, “Mariah Dawn Adkins, Will You Marry Me?” Matt asked Mariah to look into the box right before totality. As she looked down she started to tear up and turned around to find Matt down on one Knee. He asked her to marry him to which she, of course, said yes! A minute later everything went dark and they took in the full eclipse together. Talk about the most romantic and epic proposal ever! We couldn’t be happier that these two amazing people have found each other! Make sure to visit the rest of their engagement blog at Shaker Village to read more about their love story. Also, you don’t want to miss their cute puppy Beans!
