Romantic Southern Engagement Session at Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, KY

Aly and Larry’s engagement session was at the beautiful Shaker Village in Harrodsburg, Kentucky. Their romantic engagement session was at sunset at this magical place nestled in the heart of Kentucky. Shaker Village has the most beautiful fields full of wildflowers, white fences, and historic buildings with lots of character. When we first met Aly and Larry we could tell right away that they were smitten with each other. We had so much fun exploring the countryside and hearing all about their love story. We are so excited for their wedding next summer at the Griffin Gate Marriott in Lexington, Kentucky.

Aly and Larry met 4 years ago while they were both working at the same hospital. Larry had seen Aly and started to ask the nurses on her unit if she was single. Aly had just gotten out of a relationship and told them that she wasn’t interested. They gave her Larry’s number and told her to tell him herself. Larry was very respectful but now that he had her number he began to text her every day. As they started texting they started to get to know each other and realized that they had a great connection. A few weeks later Larry asked her to lunch and they really hit it off. They became inseparable ever since. Their first date was on Valentine’s Day. Aly met Larry at his house. He said he would be late so he left her a key under his mat. When she walked in there was a table by the door with a sweet note and a glass of wine. Larry had candles everywhere and a trail of rose petals that led to the kitchen counter where there were roses and gifts for Aly. Aly was so surprised and then all of the sudden Larry came out from a back room of the house where he was hiding. He even recorded her reaction to his sweet surprise. They ended the night by going to dinner and a movie.

Aly and Larry love to travel. They decided to go on a romantic cruise together. One night everyone got all dressed up in formal wear. Larry had convinced Aly a few weeks before to go shopping and pick out a new dress just for that night. They went out to dinner that night. The waiter brought out a platter with Aly’s favorite dessert from the ship and her ring. The waiter got everyone’s attention in the dining hall and stated that Larry wanted to ask Aly a question. Rose petals were set out in the shape of a heart. He placed the platter in the middle of them and got down on one knee asking Aly to marry him. How Romantic! They had their photos taken and the chef sent them a bottle of champagne. Be sure to check back next June to see the rest of their love story unfold.
