Engagement Session at Buffalo Trace and Keeneland Racecourse

Jane and Kevin’s engagement session started at the rustic and historic Buffalo Trace Distillery in Frankfort, KY. We love Buffalo Trace because it is filled with so many unique structures. You are sure to find something unique around every corner. We had so much fun getting to know Jane and Kevin and hearing about their love story. They are both so sweet and the love they have for each other is so evident. After Buffalo Trace, we headed to one of their favorite places, Keeneland Racecourse. We met their sweet dogs Ali and Harvey who were full of energy and loved chasing squirrels. After taking some pictures of their adorable dogs we headed inside the grandstand for some fun and romantic photos. We ended the day at sunset with Manchester Farm’s iconic white barn on the hillside in the background. We couldn’t have had a prettier day or more fun with Jane and Kevin.

Their first date was at a local restaurant called Hammerheads in Louisville, Kentucky. Jane enjoyed their conversation and the laughter that it brought. They talked about their dogs who were both around the same age. After a couple of dates, they decided it was time for their dogs to meet. Ali and Harvey didn’t connect at first as easily as Jane and Kevin, but after a few hikes in the park, they became best friends.

For Jane’s birthday, Kevin took her skiing in Utah with his brother and his fiance’. After Jane’s first trip down the mountain, she took a fall and injured her knee and couldn’t ski for the rest of the weekend. Kevin was worried especially since they weren’t sure what Jane had done to her knee. Later on they found out that Jane had sustained a stress fracture. Ouch! Kevin knew how to make it better by trading Jane’s lift tickets for spa passes at the beautiful St. Regis Resort. Jane enjoyed her time at the Spa while Kevin spent some time skiing with his brother.

One day after Jane returned from the Spa Kevin told her he wanted to show her an amazing view of the mountains. Jane could tell that Kevin was nervous when he told her how much he loved her but didn’t know he had the engagement ring they had picked out together. She was so surprised when he dropped down on one knee and asked her to marry him. Jane’s brother also came to Utah and photographed the whole thing. I love what Jane said, “The trip didn’t go as planned, but it made for a great memory and story. I wouldn’t change a thing!” We are so excited to share some of our favorite photos from their engagement session.
