We would like to introduce you to Liz and Skip the owners of Events at Hemlock Springs based in the Red River Gorge in Campton, Kentucky. This new wedding and event venue is absolutely spectacular. Hemlock Springs is nestled in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains surrounding some of the most beautiful land in the state of Kentucky. The Red River Gorge is world known for rock climbing, hiking, and arches. The property has rock shelters, waterfalls, streams, and mountain meadows. The romantic ceremony space is covered by a canopy of trees and is currently set up to seat 200 guests, although it can be expanded if necessary. At the entrance to the aisle, there is a set of vintage rustic doors that can open and close to reveal the bride. There is also a beautiful gazebo that the couple can stand under during the ceremony.
The reception and getting ready space is located in a modern barn that is decorated on the inside with high ceilings, reclaimed wood floors, exposed beams, and chandeliers. The bridal suite features a beautiful room with big windows, large mirrors, and a comfortable and cozy place to spend with your family and friends as you get ready for your special day. The groom’s suite is located upstairs and has a pool table and leather furniture allowing you and your friends to relax and have some fun before the big day. The reception hall is very spacious allowing for up to 200 guests on the inside. There are also two large doors that can open allowing for outside dancing, a cocktail hour or more tables for up to 100 additional guests. Their facility features many reclaimed and locally sourced materials. Superior craftsmanship can be seen throughout the building thanks to the incredible Amish crew that helped out. Events at Hemlock Springs is the perfect close destination feel you have always wanted. It allows you to treat your guests to a secluded outdoor setting, but at the same time gives you everything that you need from a place to get ready, to the space for your ceremony and reception. There are so many great locations to take photos in nature and also inside the barn. It is definitely a one of a kind experience that will have your friends and family forever talking about your special day.
Skip and Liz the owners of Events at Hemlock Springs grew up camping, climbing, exploring, and hiking in the Red River Gorge. Their love for the outdoors led them to meet one day while they were both climbing in the gorge. Here is a little background on how they decided to start Events at Hemlock Springs, “A couple of years ago, we started talking about where we might like to get married, and of course we wanted it to be here at home, so we decided to get to work fixing up the property and barn. Along the way, as we shared our dream with others, many expressed an interest in being married in a place like what we were creating. From there, the idea was hatched that we could open our property up to others as a venue; allowing us to not only live and work in the Red River Gorge, but to share the beauty of this place with others.”
Skip and Liz have poured their heart and soul into Hemlock Springs. We have really enjoyed watching their progress throughout the year. It has been like watching Chip and Joanna on HGTV’s Fixer Upper Together but with a wedding venue. Skip’s background and first love was photography, design and art and Liz’s background was in the non-profit world. Their combined skills make them the perfect duo to make their dream into a reality. It’s so nice to know that what we have worked so hard to create and decided to share with others is appreciated and the quality is recognized. We have been honored to meet some truly amazing people, and for them to choose to spend such a memorable day at our home is very special to us.”
